Chromium Picolinate is a combination of chromium with picolinic acid, a natural chelator that promotes absorption of certain minerals. Chromium's main function is to help insulin transport glucose from the blood into cells, for energy. It also plays a part in the metabolization of protein, fats and carbohydrates. While chromium is not normally well-absorbed by the body, Chromium Picolinate is a highly bioavailable form.
